Common questions
How do I add a video?
Create a project, then click any empty tile and pick a file. You can also drag files straight onto the grid. macOS will ask permission the first time you use a folder — that grant is what lets VidGrid read those files later.
Where are my videos stored?
Where you left them. VidGrid reads your files in place and never copies or moves them. That means if you move or rename a file elsewhere on your Mac, its tile will show as broken — use Relink to point it at the new location, or Remove to clear it.
The second window is covering my controls
VidGrid runs two windows: one you drive, and one your audience sees. With a second display connected, the presentation window goes there automatically. On a single display, drag it aside or onto another Space.
How do I hide the labels until I am ready?
Labels are hidden from your audience by default. Your own window always shows you what is hidden and what is not. Reveal shows one label to the audience; Reveal All shows every label; Hide All puts them back so you can run the same comparison again for the next group.
What happens when the free trial ends?
VidGrid locks. You can still open any project and look at your work — greyed out — so nothing you made is lost or hidden. Saving and presenting resume the moment you subscribe.
I already paid, but a new Mac is asking me to subscribe
Open the paywall and choose Restore Purchases. Your subscription lives on your Apple account, so it follows you to any Mac signed in to the same account. Make sure it is the same account you bought with.
How do I cancel?
Through Apple, not through us: System Settings, then your name, then Media & Purchases, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the renewal; you keep access until the period you have paid for ends.
Does VidGrid need an internet connection?
Only for two things: loading a web tile's page, and buying or restoring a subscription. Everything else — playback, presenting, saving — works offline.
